Uniform - Ballet

  • All students must wear the correct uniform for every class.
  • All uniform requirements are available through Blochs in Woden except leotards to be ordered through the school
  • All Ballet students need the correct classical uniform.
  • Exam candidates only will need a Character uniform (see below).
  • Hair must be pinned into a bun correctly before students can participate in class. Hair accessories are allowed but please keep to a minimum. NO headbands allowed except Pre/Primary and Primary levels (must be a thick cotton stretch headband in pink).
  • Please note that no jewellery is allowed (studs and sleeper earrings OK).
  • Pre/Primary and Primary Leotard is a gathered front, low back style.
  • Grades 1 – 5 Leotard is a Princess Line Camisole style (Energetiks brand).
  • All ballet shoes are to be full sole (NO splitsoles allowed).
  • WINTER : Girls can add a ballet wrap in same colour as leotard and ballet tights are acceptable for younger students in the colder months. Boys can wear a slim fitting sweatshirt over leotard/ T-shirt.
  • Wrap skirts in a matching colour are allowed in NON exam ballet classes only.

Grades 1-8 Character Uniform (exam candidates only)

There is a separate uniform which should be worn for the Character work:

Female

Character skirts should be in black cotton material in either circular in style or gathered at the waist, although the former is preferable. The hem of the skirt should be approximately 3 inches below the knee. Each skirt will need the school's own braiding sewn on for exams around the bottom of the skirt.

Character shoes are also needed and should be black canvas with pink elastic. These are available in two heel sizes - low heel and the Cuban heel. The Cuban heel should ideally be worn from Grade 3 onwards.

Male

The male uniform remains the same throughout all Examinations except for the shoes. Laced up Character shoes should be worn.
